Dockyard and Engineering Works ltd. (DEW) began their humble journey as ‘Narayanganj Dockyard Limited’, as the first ever of the Indian Sub-Continent, on 1922.

SHOPS OF DEW SHIPYARD
DOCKING SECTION
Where all newly built ships are launched from, and repair ships are docked and undocked. The docking section is made up of dry docks where our ships are built
SHIPBUILDING SHOP (AREA: 3000 SQ.M.)
This is where our ship structures are constructed. Here, we employ specialist workers for both steel and aluminum construction.
COMPOSITE BOAT BUILDING SHOP (AREA: 768 SQ.M.)
A newly built shop catering to the need for reduced weight in composite hulls and decks in boatbuilding and marine markets.
MACHINE SHOP (AREA: 1300 SQ. M.)
An enriched machine shop measuring 1300 sq.m. which provides significant support to the other shops of DEW.
ICE SHOP (AREA: 530 SQ. M.)
The primary purpose of DEW’s Outfitting Shop is the installation of shafts, propellers, plummer clocks, A/P brackets, and stern tubes onboard ships.
